Why was I blocked?
This game checks that your device and app are genuine before letting you in. Something about your setup didn’t pass that check. Here’s what that usually means — and what you can try.
📶 Check your internet connection
The game needs a working internet connection to verify your device. If you’re on mobile data, try switching to Wi-Fi, or vice versa. If your connection is weak or unstable, the check may fail even if everything else is fine.
What to do: Make sure you have a stable internet connection, then try opening the game again.
Start here — Update everything and restart your phone
Before trying anything else, make sure all three of the following are fully up to date — then restart your phone:
-
Android system software
-
Google Play Store
-
Google Play Services
After updating all three, restart your phone and try opening the game again. This alone resolves the issue for many users.
📦 Did you install the app from the Play Store?
If you installed the game from an APK file, a link from someone, or any store other than Google Play, that’s likely why this failed. The game can only verify apps it recognises as officially downloaded.
What to do: Uninstall the app, then reinstall it directly from the Google Play Store.
🔒 Is your device Play Protect certified?
Google certifies devices that pass its safety and compatibility tests. If your phone isn’t certified, it’s a red flag for the game’s security check — even if your phone looks and feels perfectly normal.
How to check: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile picture → Settings → About → look for “Play Protect certification.”
What to do: If it says “Not certified,” contact your phone’s manufacturer or seller to resolve it.
🛠️ Did you buy the phone second-hand or refurbished?
Some refurbished or imported phones come with modified software that isn’t recognized by Google — even if they look completely normal and came with Google Play pre-installed. This is not your fault.
What to do: Contact the seller or manufacturer. If they advertised Google Play support, you may be entitled to a replacement, refund, or a software restore at an official service center.
⚙️ Is the bootloader unlocked?
An unlocked bootloader is a low-level setting on some phones that allows the operating system to be modified. Even if you never changed it yourself, some devices are sold in this state. Google’s security check treats this as a trust concern.
What to do: This cannot be fixed through regular settings. It typically requires the original manufacturer’s software to be restored at a service center.
Still stuck? This security check is run by Google, not the game. If your device or app isn’t recognized as genuine, the game cannot override it. The most common fixes are reinstalling from the Play Store or contacting your device manufacturer.
